Novel Air Pollution Control System
THG assisted in the design, installation, testing, and permitting of a small (~4,000 CFM) Regenerative Thermal Oxidation Unit (RTO) for a plastics company. The RTO system reduces VOC emissions by > 98% and uses the influent VOC’s as fuel gas, greatly reducing natural gas operating cost. Instead of using a traditional room-sized Permanent Total Enclosure (PTE), THG helped design several small machine-specific enclosures which reduced the CFM requirement by an order of magnitude and resulted in significant installation and operating cost savings for the client.

REACH, GHS and CLP
THG assisted a specialty chemical manufacturer with the pre-registration of over a dozen substances with the ECHA. THG, in concert with an Only Representative (OR) in the EU, prepared and submitted the information necessary for an approved pre-registration of all substances. THG continues to assist with the preparation of GHS-compliant SDS’s and container labels meeting the CLP requirements. THG also monitors SIEF activity for each substance and maintains the required OR documentation for shipments of the substances into the EU. THG will assist in the preparation of the registration dossier for these substances based on the appropriate phase-in dates.
